Based in Wiltshire, Jill Blackwood is a RHS Medal winning Swindon Garden Designer. Jill has designed and brought to reality gardens for hundreds of delighted clients throughout Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire. Whatever the size or scope of the project, Jill prides herself on providing a bespoke and professional service to all her clients. From an early age Jill was an avid garden and art enthusiast. She developed and built her knowledge of garden design and plants through a thirst and passion for all aspects of gardening. Jill completed a HND in Business with distinction in 1998 winning the Senior Merit Award. After working in politics for five years Jill decided to turn her passion for gardens and art into a career. Whilst studying as a Garden Designer for two years Jill started her garden design business. Fourteen years on, the business has grown from strength to strength. Jill now has an extensive portfolio of completed projects in a wide range of sizes, styles and budgets. She has recommendations from many delighted clients.
In May 2006 Jill entered a show garden design which was accepted in the Royal Horticultural Societies Malvern Spring Gardening Show. The ‘Bonnie Burn’ show garden was awarded an RHS Silver Medal. The garden was seen by over 100,000 keen gardeners who visited the show. A ‘Bonnie Burn’ was featured on BBCs Gardeners World. Jill has also appeared on Swindon Radio and in the Swindon Advertiser, written articles for local publications and given talks to local gardening clubs and Swindon College.
As a Garden Designer, Jill has become involved in many local projects on a voluntary basis including garden designs for King William Street School, Bishopstone pond, Queens Park Secret Garden, East Grafton War Memorial and Uplands School, along with donating design prizes for charity raffle at the Mayors Ball.
