Garden Design Faringdon, Oxfordshire

Nested in the Oxfordshire this large property required a garden update to blend with the house and surrounding countryside.  The clients wanted a garden that reflected their tastes with softly coloured, warm materials as a backdrop to bright, happy colour planting.   Various areas to sit were also on their list, along with lighting, a water harvesting and irrigation system  and plenty of interesting focal points.

The design used softly coloured sandstone blended with Cotswold stone walling.  The self binding Cotswold colour path provided a stable surface for walking.   Corten steel edging was used to give warmth and definition of shape in the garden.  Rusty colour lights were added to match the Corten steel and provided an emphasis on focal points as well as lighting up the social areas.  The center piece was a Corten steel sculpture chosen by the clients, up lit at night for dramatic effect.   On the main patio by the house a Corten steel water blade flows down into  a water rill before cascading again into a pool next to a Lutyens seat, allowing the full enjoyment of the relaxing sound of flowing water.   From the client…….

Jill designed our back garden from a barren and uninspiring plot of land into an interesting and exciting design that mesmerises and impresses in every season.

All our design ideas were incorporated and complemented with a wonderful selection of plants which Jill helpfully guided us in selecting.

We were so impressed that Jill was further engaged to design our front garden and that also resulted in an equally superb layout that has transformed our frontage and we are very pleased with all that Jill has done for us.
